1. Notification’s settings
Getting notifications of the necessary apps and email is crucial. Windows 10 has this feature that we can set alerts for certain applications and programs, and also much more. However, getting these alerts for all the programs and emails is most of the time is annoying, and we need to make necessary modifications as per our requirements. To do so >> Go to the Home>> Systems >> you will see Notifications & actions on the left>> Make necessary alterations as per your need.
Settings page with Notifications tab |
2. Change default color and size for mouse pointer
Although it
is not much of a useful function, we can personalize it as per our preferences
by adjusting the dimensions and color of the pointer. Furthermore, when you
alter the appearance, it is easier to navigate.
To do
so>> Go to Home>>Ease of Access>> On the left side of widows
you will see the Mouse pointer
(Refer to the below image)
Settings page with Mouse pointer tab |
3. Set autologin to bypass entering the password frequently
Entering a password every time you unlock your system is quite bothersome when you are the single person using that system. To get rid of the lock screen, you need to follow a few easy steps. Open the command prompt >> Type netplwiz >> beat Enter>> User accounts window will emerge >> choose the account you want to set for automatic login >> Enter the password >> Click Ok >> A window called Automatically Sign-in will be opened thereafter>> enter your credentials one more time >> hit OK>> Choose Sign-in options >> select Never under the Require Sign-in box>> Click Ok and you are done.
4. Struggle to find safe mode
We have
been operating this windows feature for since long. As the name interprets it
is a secure method to start your system with only fundamental drivers and
applications by bypassing grave applications and programs. Formerly it was very
straightforward to get safe mode by just tapping the F8 key on the starting
window. But now we get confused in Windows 10 when it doesn’t work this way.
So, to use
Safe mode in Windows 10, either hold down the Shift Key during the boot-up or
if you are already logged in, just select restart from the Desktop while
holding down thekey.
5. Change the taskbar location
This
feature used to be available in earlier OS versions also, and it was quite
simple to do so by just with the pointer of the mouse. But it doesn’t work in
windows 10. The taskbar is the single point of control to access many programs
on the desktop. With the help of the taskbar, we can switch among many programs
without a hassle, and can also add as many as possible program shortcuts which
can be open with a single click.
To update the taskbar settings and locations>> either go to the Settings from programs>> Personalization>> you will find Task Bar on the bottom of the left side list or else you can directly search Taskbar settings in the windows Search (Refer to the below screenshots)
Beneath the taskbar, you will get several choices to change the settings and location of the taskbar.
